SEO Link Building Services, Scam or Truth?
There probably isn't a day that goes by, where I do not receive some spam
in my inbox from someone purporting to be an Indian based link building service
offering to build my seo or search engine optimization back links for me. Fore
the most part, I do like most of us would do and hit the delete button.
The other day I was looking a website that was a fairly successful looking
site that sold Japanese Swords, it was called, http://www.japaneseswords4samurai.com/ and
it ranked quite well for some fairly major traffic keywords. Delving a little
deeper into the sites profile I discovered their link building history and
it was rather obvious that they had been employing the services of a link building
company somewhere in their past.
Take a look at this image courtesey of the good people at Majesticseo.com.
You will see that the backlink building history looks suspciously like a shopping
cart style of links have been applied for this site.

Notice how the number of links that appear each month is close to round figures,
6,000 in July 2007, 8,000 in December 2007, 6,000 in February 2008, 1,500 in
April 2008, 8,000 in both August and September of 2008, so on it goes. This
is not a normal backlink pattern of someone gaining links from purely organic
sources. If it were then the graph would be much more random.
Notice that if this was a popular site that people were just linking to organicly,
the whole thing seems to come to a halt in April of 2009. Why would that be
the case? A great and popular site just stops getting thousands of links naturally?
I don't think so.
Anyway this site was one of the sites that claim to have used the services
of CyperlinkPro a
seo backlink or back link building service. I contacted the owner of the Japanese
Swords website and asked for verification as to whether or not they had actually
used the service these guys provide. The owner said that he had not personally
used them but the previous owner may have.
So there is our answer, the previous owner was looking to build up sales from
his site by establishing himself as a solid prescence in the Japanese swords
online store type site with one intention in mind, cash out and go do it again.
This explains why the history of the links looks so radical, not natural at
all.
So the bottomline question we need to answer here, is "Do SEO link building
services work?". Well let's take a look at how well these guys do in the search
engines, namely Google for Japanese Swords.
So there they are at No#4 on the first page of Google for the keywords, japanese
swords. Not bad, I am sure they are selling a truckload with that sort of ranking.
Do a little more research and you will probably find the number of keywords
to be rather high and this would mean that their link building by CyberlinkPro was probably worth it. Google slap, in the sandbox, taken out of the index
for link building that is obviously not organic, I think not for all of the
above.
Well what are you waiting for, give these guys a try, I certainly will do
and will keep you posted on how it goes for my some of my sites.
